Elena Sofia Bobei 

Creating art is my therapy, my escape from (sometimes disappointing) reality, my drop of fantasy, thoughts, ideas, dreams, all transferred on paper. I often call it my diary because everything I create has a story, details that I extract from my every day life.

Growing up in Bistrita, a medieval town ofTransylvania, I was surrounded by beautiful old architecture that just fascinated me. Its impact and inspiration is obvious in most of my work.

Along the years, in search of my artist identity I have played with all mediums and art techniques known, but so far nothing gave me greater satisfaction than working with graphite on paper. I feel a sense of tranquility conceiving a drawing with its monochrome contrasts, play of light and dark, endless grid of fine lines.
